Unveiled: Covers 01/02/2013
This post has been sorted into "cover reveal, Unveiled" • 9 Comments

Here are some covers that have been released for upcoming books in the last few months.

Firstly I have to show you some covers of Michael Grant’s upcoming releases.

.

.
On the left we have the redesigned cover for the US paperback of BZRK and on the right is the cover for the sequel (hardcover) BZRK Reloaded, out in the US in October. Yes, they’ve redesigned from the simplistic original cover. These new covers are bold and eye-catching, but I just don’t think they represent the story well other than all the nanobots or biots there.

Then there’s the German (I think) cover for BZRK Reloaded below, which comes out in April. Hopefully the UK/ANZ cover sticks with the original cover like the German cover has done. It is released in UK/ANZ in August.

Besides the German BZRK Reloaded there is the UK/ANZ cover of Light, the final book in the Gone series, which NEEDS TO HURRY ITS PRECIOUS TUSH UP (comes out in April). The pages on the side are black with a crack and white light coming out, in line with the previous coloured page edges.

And below are other covers that have been released. Click on the image to be taken to the Goodreads page.

Out of these I’m most excited for James Dashner’s new series beginning with The Eye of Minds. The cover is incredibly effective that I’m sure it will have no trouble being picked off the shelf because of it. The Night Itself is another book that I’m most looking forward to reading, and although I thought the cover might be a bit better than the cover above, this cover is still cool and a bit retro. The Oathbreaker’s Shadow looks like something I’ll enjoy too.

As for an adult release, Samantha Shannon’s first book, The Bone Season, in a possible seven book series had its cover and synopsis revealed and it sounds highly intriguing. The cover isn’t all that WOW! though, but it must represent something in the book.

Which covers do you like best? Which books are you most looking forward to reading?

Light! After it gets released I’ll get started on the series, I’ve been waiting for it to be completed. Next would be ACID. Personally it wasn’t the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo comparison that drew me in but it was mentioned in a blurb that she was in an all male prison or something. o__o And that cover is cool.

Curtsies & Conspiracies looks great and goes well with the first in the series. Does anyone else think the model looks a little like Natalie Portman? And the girl on Eternity looks a lot like the actress in Warm Bodies.

You better start on the Gone series. Or you’ll see me at your door ;) hah!

I actually thought the model on C&C looks like Kiera Knightley. But as for the Eternity cover, hmmm, nah, I don’t see Amanda Palmer in that model.

I’m really, really, REALLY looking forward to The Bone Season. I’m not exactly a huge fan of Samantha being dubbed “the new J.K Rowling” but *shrugs* let’s hope the book lives up to the hype, eh?

True. I really hope it lives up to the praise.

I was a bit disappointed in The Bone Season’s cover. I thought they would’ve done something EPIC with it considering all of the coverage the book has gotten. Still, the author said it does represent something in the book so I’m looking forward to reading it. I also LOVE Inheritance’s cover. Glad it matches the first book’s cover.

Yes yes yes! Let’s hope we’re not disappointed in the words.

BZRK redesign? Hmmm. Not sure how I feel about that… I prefer the original =\ WHY SO MANY REDESIGNS ALL THE TIME?! Agh, I’ve been SO behind on all bloggy/book things lately. Even though I was determined to stay updated again. I’ve only seen a few of these covers, but excited! The Bone Season doesn’t scream the pretties, but I’m really eager (and hopeful) that the story will be amazing. So much hype! Acid looks BADASS. I want to read that based on cover alone.

  • I totally love this post. Thank you so so much for doing this- if not, I’d have missed out on a lot! I like BZRK’s new design, but then it won’t match my copy of the first book… Huh, dilemma time! XD And aah, I didn’t know James Dashner had a new book!

…and this will sounds really stupid, but the girl on the cover of Eternity looks like Thor. Well, a female version, but still. The shadows on her upper lip look like a mustache. O.o

I just had to laugh at that Thor comment. I saw someone say she looks like Amanda Palmer (I Am Number Four, Warm Bodies)… and I said no. lol
